This tradition continues today, with our classes for more modern cars following the specification of the current Caterham Motorsport 270R and 310R classes but still allowing Sigmax, Roadsport and even Academy specification cars to compete.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eFrom the outset, the Club\u0027s philosophy is that it should be the driver, not the car that makes the difference. Our members come from a variety of backgrounds. Many of our members have \u0022graduated\u0022 from the Caterham Academy, or have joined us later from the Caterham Motorsport \u0022ladder\u0022. Some have joined us from other racing disciplines whilst others join us as novices for their first foray into motorsport.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eMany of our members have been racing with us for more than ten years and some of our members pass through on their motorsport journey to other forms of racing. \u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePrevious notable racing members include Jon Barnes (British GT Champion, Caterham test driver and 2002 Super Graduates runner up), British Touring Car Championship race winner Ollie Jackson, Caterham\u0027s very own Simon Lambert (2002 Super Graduates Champion), Flick Haigh (British GT Champion and 2009 Classic Champion) and Caterham technician Lee Bristow (310R Champion 2017 and Sigmax 2016 runner up).\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eToday, CGRC is one of the largest single-make Championships in UK club racing, with over 140 racing members in 2024. \u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eWe aim to enjoy the best value Caterham club racing, in a fun, competitive, fair, and sociable environment.\u0026nbsp; We achieve this by having:\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cul\u003e\u003cli\u003eclosely controlled specifications with limited permitted modifications from standard\u003c/li\u003e\u003cli\u003enominated engine builders with engine sealing\u003c/li\u003e\u003cli\u003eour own eligibility \u0026nbsp;scrutineer at every race meeting\u003c/li\u003e\u003cli\u003ea maximum limit of 12 tyres per season with barcoding by our nominated tyre supplier\u003c/li\u003e\u003cli\u003ean active Driving Standards Team made up of experienced drivers\u003c/li\u003e\u003c/ul\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003ch3\u003e\u003cstrong\u003e\u003cu\u003e2026 Season – Calendar, Meeting Format and New Regulations\u003c/u\u003e\u003c/strong\u003e\u003c/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe CGRC Championship comprises seven race weekends, with two or three races at each meeting. The outcome will be advised to the parties involved, along with an explanation for the DST\u0027s findings and any penalty applied.\u0026nbsp; \u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn the event of a member\u0027s driving standards falling below the standards considered to be appropriate to the Club, the Driving Standards Team, as authorised by the Caterham Graduates Racing Club Executive Committee, may decide, based on the seriousness of the incident, that a verbal warning, written warning, yellow card or red card is issued.\u003c/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eA red card results in the suspension of racing membership of the CGRC. The suspension will be for a period of six races, all of which are to be counted as point scoring races with zero points, i.e., none are permitted to be used as drop scores.
